Well, when you properly lower your car, you will need new springs and struts. True coilovers incorporate the spring and strut together and also give you height, sometimes damping, etc. adjustability. A good true coilover will run you $1000+ Even a cheap sleeve will run $200-$350, but you pretty much need struts to go with it.

In all honesty, I recommend just saving some more money so you can drop it correctly. Also, if you want more info on lowering and suspension, read through the suspension forum and/or use the search function.
