You're still best off having all 4 of the same tires. By mixing tires you're just making it so the traction of the front and back is different, so the handling of the car can be a little less predictable.

But for the most part it's not that big a deal as long as you keep the 2 tires on any given axle the same, as mentioned above.

Edit: Clarification on the traction thing. The handling isn't less predictable if you get familiar with it and know how it'll react. And I certainly wouldn't worry about it much unless you put some really crappy handling tires on 1 and some good ones on the other.....
