Weapon-R Throttle Rotor
Ok guys I broke down and bought this off of ebay for $30, It was easy as hell to install it only took literally 2 minutes, it just slips right over your stock throttle rotor and you re-attach the throttle cable to it instead. So basically all this thing does is tighten the the throttle cable really tight. My car accelerates almost twice as fast now it is crazy, also it has kind of a different tone. This was definitely worth the $30 spent and 2minute install time.

You couldn't tighten the stock cable? Oh well, make sure it isn't so tight that it messes with your idle.

at first I had it on too tight and my Idle was all screwed up it was idling around 3,000 rpms lol. I didn't try to tighten the stock cable at all. If you know how to adjust the cable with out the rotor please tell, I'm sure everyone else would like to know!

The throttle cable is hooked to your gas pedal, so if you tighten your throttle cable when you step on the gaspedal there is no slack on the throttle cable, now it opens the throttle faster since the throttle cable is connected to the pedal alot tighter than before. do you understand? |

Well, you can kind of just look at it, but my Haynes is better at describing things than I am, so here is the excerpt: Adjustment -To adjust accelerator cable a) Lift up on the cable to remove any slack b) Turn the adjusting nut until it is 1/8 inch (3 mm) away from the cable bracket c) Tighten the locknut and check cable deflection at the throttle linkage. Deflection should be 3/8 to 1/2 inch. If deflection is not within specifications, losen the locknut and turn the adjusting nut until the deflection is as specified. d) After you have adjusted the throttle cable, have an assistant help you verify that the throttle valve opens all the way when you depress the accelerator pedal to the floor and that it returns to the idle position when you release the accelerator. Verify the cable operates smoothly. It must not bind or stick. That's what good 'ol Haynes says about it ![]()

So basically it's an easy way to get more acceleration? Or what?
I meant the tightening method, not the "spend 30 bucks" one. |

hey guys i know this thread is dead but i need help bad...
i just got the rotor on my car today and everything is installed. i tightened the throttle cable to it's max and this is the problem- there is no pedal response until i press it down to like 90%. anybody know what i'm doing wrong? |
