Bond, James Bond
Ok...since apparently I'm a big fat looser (thanks Kyle!) and have never watched a James Bond movie until Saturday....I was wondering what everyone's favorite Bond movie is. This might aid in my selecting the next one when I go to Blockbuster next. The only one I've seen now is Tomorrow Never Dies.

I don't really have a fav right now...(I like all equally)
But the new one, Die Another Day i think it is, looks like it's gonna top it off.

they're all good, some better than others, you should start off by getting Dr. No, its the first one,
out of the classics, my favourite is goldfinger, but i dont know if u'll like the classics, the new era ones with pierce brosnan are all pretty much equally good, goldeneye, tommorow never dies, the world is not enough, my fav probly being goldeneye |

Every movie with Pearce Brosnan(sp?) is badass....
Sean Conery sucks as James Bond...and so does that other old dude...lol Goldfinger was pretty sweet..

kyle, you dont need to show your young age so much. Sean did the best job with the bond character. He made bond into what you know him to be today. Pierce does a good job dont get me wrong but hes only trying to live up to the image sean created for 007. Bond wouldn't have gotten so far without him... so go rent some of the old ones and learn some respect for the old dude, who btw is a great actor.
As for my favs, they would be the old ones. Gold finger and Dr.No because Dr.No was the first.. d go rent the first as i said before! |

I can't really past judgement on the old ones or even the new ones, except for Tomorrow Never Dies, because I haven't seen them. I just assume I won't like the old ones because they don't have as high-tech gadgets or cars. Although, Sean Connery is very handsome!

must agree with you on this one. The older ones are counting on the story selling the movie, not a bunch of special effects that capture todays brainwashed mind of our youth. People today dont know what makes a good movie, and thats why half the movies come out wont be remembered like "breakfast at tifiny's" or "Dr.NO". A good movie can stand the test of time and still be enjoyable to watch. most of todays movies are one time viewers, maybe 2 if you can stand it. People today are to caught up with sex, drugs and violence and a good plot would be lost on them. sorry for the rant, oh and dont see Femme Fatale it sucks |

Oh, don't get me wrong, I like a good story just as much as the next person, but I find some of the effects intriguing and entertaining. I liked the romantic story in Tomorrow Never Dies as well as most of the action movies I've seen. There's almost always a romantic interest for the action hero. I think I'm drawn towards the romantic story since I lack any romance in my life! ![]()

Bond rules. I think "I find bond films boring" is more offensive to me than "there's no replacement for displacement"
Connery was the best bond, of course, although I think his return in 'Never say never' was a mistake (and so was the movie...). Some of the best gadgets were in the pre-Brosnan films. Try 'Octopussy' and 'The Spy who loved me'. The Lotus-turned-submarine rules. I think the flashiness of the newer ones leaves a hole in the setting - the old ones were more "Bond travels to exotic places (and Kentucky... oh, well) to investigate and defend the empire" whereas the newer ones were "here's a palce, here's Bond completely photoshopped into that place, here's a big explosion". Stephan - there's an idea for your date rent a Bond marathon! |

just because you see movies before they come out doesn't mean you know everything about movies... IMO...er, IMFO, the james bond movies with Sean sucked...i didn't like them...it doesn't mean that they weren't good...but i didn't like them... I don't know what the **** your problem is...cause lately you've been acting like a real dickhead.

well back then the car chase stunts... with the oil sprayer, machine gun, and all the other stuff that he had in his aston martin, and for example in dr no, when that whole underwater palace blows up... thats "special effects" and people then and now will always be interested in things blowing up... they all have plots, todays dealing with more specials effects to reflect the times |

Everyone has some great opinions on which moives are their favorites...i appreciate that. Basically I want to be entertained. We'll see if I'm entertained by the flashy gagets and cars in Pierce's movies or the plot of the older ones. I tend to be more impressed with gagets and hot guys though

on the topic of bond, if you check out the new song for it. Its really not that great, but the movie opens with a big surf scene shot of hawaii and it looks like bond is getting some edge to him, going against M on something I'll keep quiet until you all get to see it.

oh I saw on the "news" (it was actually Monday nights Entertainment tonight) that Pierce got to keep his car from Die another day and Halle Berry also got to keep the car she drove too. I think it was a lil unfair cuz her car is estimated at like $43000 and his was at like half a million. Not fair!!! If I were Halle i'd be askin for the same car as Pierce. Only 500 of Pierce's car were manufactured. I WANT ONE!!!

The car shot in the movie has the V10 remove and a V8 installed so they can get 4WD in it. Also lightened the car up a bit, i'm wondering if its as fast with the v8, the car is dead sexy.... mmmm v10 |
