I need advice...sell my car?
Okay, I was at a car show last night. I'm rollin my car in and this guy comes up and starts ta;lking to me. He complimented my car and asked where I got it and how much I paid. I told him where and about how much. And it turns out he's been looking for a 4th gen civic hatch to build up. He liked my car because the body and interior are in very decent condition (minus the paint). He offered me $2500 for my car AT FACE VALUE. He didn't even look under the hood or ask what kind of problems it had. I paid $1700 for it. I would be making an 800 dollar profit off of my car. But...ITS MY CAR! Its my first car and I love it, even with all of its problems. How did you guys part with your first car?
He was saying that he'll sell me his CRx Si. We didn't talk numbers, but looking at his car it should be cheap. He's got rust, but took care of some of it. The bumper has minor cosmetic damage and the hood has a big dent in it. But I've also wanted a CRX! what to do??!! I'm thinking if anything, I'll tell him my price is 3,000 plus I keep my rims. I could buy his crx for 1,000 and have 2,000 left over to fix it up, assuming its mechanically sound and there are no huge problems. (he's also got the all clear tails on his crx!) what is you guy's's honest opinion about all this? I know its a long post but this a big decision for me. I need to make this decision in a few weeks. |

keep ur car.....u could prolly do more to ur car then that CRX...i love those older hatchs...just stick with it man....save ur money...dont be buying and selling and selling and buying blah blah..stick with one thing and give her hell..lol...u know ur car is in good shape...minus some problems...but who knows..his car could be worse...

yeah i suppose your right. I'll prolly keep it unless I find an incredible deal on a 5th or 6th gen hatch.

um...is this US money or CAN?
if it's US go for it...you could probably find a 92-3-4 hatch for like 4k or so...

yeah I live in peoria, IL. sorry, I should really change that.
Man I don't know. I need to find something for about 2500-3000 if i'm gonna do this. anything beyond that is too rich for this poor college stewdent. |

sounds good. I think what I'll do is tell the guy sorry I can't do it...unless he wants to double his offer!
I just did a few more cosmetic things to it recently, and just today I come out to go to school and I look at my car from far away and think "my car will look damn good when I paint it and have it tinted. I think I should keep it." So there we go. thanks sheany |
