98 Grand Cherokee

This is related to my other post in the off-topic forum. Anyways, if I decide to get my GF some car speakers for our 1yr anniversary, what kind should I get for her? She drives a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee without the sound package. I want to spend 100-200 US on them, but also want good sound. Is this possible? The stock speakers measure 6.75" front and back I believe. Right now she has stock speakers with an Alpine head unit. Would just getting an amp help the speakers out more than new speakers? Thanks for any input...

PS- I get deep discounts on speakers, so I could get speakers that retailed at $300 for about $150... thanks

yup 6 3/4 in front and back.. but you could use 6.5, much more availability..

I would look into Kicker.. Especially if you wont be adding a sub.

If you get great discounts on all speakers and are looking to spice the sound up look into Infinity either 6x9's or their subs.. Be sure to get an amp that is like 1000x2 if possible.... They take MASSIVE power and smile back and ask for more. I know that the 6x9's sound better than some of the subs that people own that i know. Infinity is a type of "GOD" of speakers
