The distributor? Do you mean the ignition coil & unit?

You can't eliminate the distributor. You can change to an aftermarket coil & an aftermarket ignition unit. You have to realize that the distributor works off the engine to control the timing of the sparks.

Honestly I wasn't aware that you could convert a Honda distributor type ignition to DIS. If you find the product post the link.
The big advantage is no moving parts. Less to break. A friend of mines has DIS in his truck. It came that way stock though.

Honestly can't help you on that one. The best bet is to replace the stock coil & unit with ones from MSD.

MSD 6BTM
MSD Blaster 3 Coil
NGK Spark Plug Wires
MSD Pro-Cap Distributor Cap

http://www.summitracing.com has all of these. You can get them all for under $300.

you can make your own dis the only thing that's needed to FULLY eliminate the dist. (ie it's gone and there's a plugged hole where it was)
is a crankposition sensor, a plug for the dist. hole, a computer to read the sensor and send a spark signal to the coil or coils.
