head packages vs custom done
ive desided against a flywheel, or any tranny work for that matter, just not the power im looking for. im leaning twords a head job, now who makes head packages fo rthe h22? i know gude does, but ive been told to kinda veer away from them, any other company? what should i look into doing? i know light weight valves, springs, retainers, maybe cams, porting head.... anthying else? if i do it peice by peice, what type of stuff should i buy? crower? dont go tthe cash for spoon.

A very nice setup would be. Headwork done by portflow(port and polish/ 3-5 angle valve job. http://www.portflow.com and some Crower Stage II cams with valve springs and retainers. Also get the head milled .25 and get some type S pistons. Once you get it put back together make sure you have some cam gears and get it dyno tuned. Your car would be making some serious power after that.

you could also go the route of having the head extrude hone and the HPC coated...this is basically the same thing as porting and polishing just a little bit better...then go with light-weight valves, springs, etc...I know JUN makes most that stuff...with the right cam this will allow you to raise your redline safely, also a good set of cam gears wouldn't be a bad idea....hope this helps
