austin powers- goldmember (review)

Quote:
It's been three years since Austin Powers, that swinging international man of mystery, has had to face his arch enemy, Dr. Evil. But after Dr. Evil and his accomplice Mini-Me escape from a maximum-security prison, Austin is called to action once more in this third installment of the highly successful Austin Powers movie franchise. Teaming up with the mysterious yet peculiar Goldmember, Dr. Evil hatches a time-traveling scheme to take over the world, one that involves the kidnapping of Nigel Powers, Austin's beloved father and England's most renowned spy. As he chases the villains through time, Austin visits 1975 and joins forces with his old flame, Foxxy Cleopatra, a streetwise but stylish detective. Together Austin and Foxxy must find a way to save Nigel and stop Dr. Evil and Goldmember from their mischievous mayhem.

I'll probably still see it even if the reviews are bad. I thought the other two were funny, so hopefully I'll get a few laughs from this one!

more details from rob

well i thought the plot was kind of stupid, when you see the ending your gonna think it was so stupid. The acting isn't bad, but the concept behind the movie is dumb. honestly the first 2 were dam funny this one just ruins it.

I'm not saying i didn't laugh durring the movie but hey anymovie can make you laugh. Do you say a movie was amazing just because you laughed? i think there has to be more to a movie then good jokes to make it good. Maybe my standards are to high, if so... you'r gonna love the movie

I saw it tonight. I rather liked it. The intro was great... sure parts of the movie relied way too much on funny scenes from the last two movies, but thats to be expected. The ending wasnt all that great, but does leave room for a fourth movie. Definately worth the $5 matinee fee... and hint... go with girls that have purses so you can sneak stuff in... bottled water is $2.50US

Yah i was pissed at the ending...but definitely open for a 4th one set in the 80s...it's the only decade he has left. And yes Goldmember totally sucked as a villian. And I still think Heather Graham was the best "Powers Chick" so far. The time machine was better in this movie though....so much better than the New Bettle in The Spy Who Shagged Me.

Yeah, I agree 100%. I laughed a lot, but the plot sucked. I didn't expect an in depth plot in the first place though.
