my civic got broken into...again!!

for those of you who remember, my civic got broken into early last month. here's the thread:
http://www.hondastyle.com/forums/sho...ot+broken+into
i thought i was fortunate that the bastards did not steal my gauges and VAFC. well, the fu^@kers came back and broke my driver side window this time and took my boost and air/fuel ratio gauge along with the mounting pod. again, they missed the APEXi VAFC cuz i coincidentally happen to place my hat over it. i am so pissed!!!! my deductible is $500 and i'm short $150. i was getting ready to get an alarm system as soon as my insurance sends my claim of $200 (from the last incident) which is supposed to come any time now. i'm getting pushed back again with all my plans for my car. i recently installed a 12:1 Vortech FMU and boost control. now, i cant see if my car is running lean cuz the gauges are gone.

jeez... i'm sorry they came back. your car seems to be a target now. it would suck if they forced you into not modding it, but i can certainly understand.

best of luck

Damn! That sucks... Do you have any idea on who maybe doing it? I think you need to look into Surveillance equipment.. This is getting rediculous..

Yeah, I'd seriously look at investing some money into cameras before modding the car. Hey, if you do that, you could maybe get your stuff back or even get some extra cash from the dickless cowards who are doing it in the first place.

yeah, i'm currently looking at alarm systems right now. the problem is, i have a turbo timer which keeps my engine running for 1 minute after removing the key from the ignition. i have to find a compatible alarm system in which will arm after the engine shuts down NOT after i close the door.........any ideas?

Sorry to hear that. That's why I aint done any modding to my car til I get an alarm and the time. But you know if someone really wants your stuff they will find a way to get it. But you should really look into some surveillance so you can catch those idiots...Well good luck

An alarm won't keep somebody from stealing your stuff. It helps as a deterrant, but if somebody is targeting you (which it sounds like they are), then they will probably have the patience to jack your stuff when nobody's going to notice or pay attention to the alarm.

Have you had the car dusted for prints?

What I'm planning on doing in my car is not even bothering with an alarm, cause nobody cares. Since I'm the one you cares if someone is jacking stuff out of my car, I should be the one who knows. Pager Monitor System. Basically it has all the same sensors as a normal alarm, but without the alarm. It pages you depending on which sensor was triggered. That should work with your turbo timer, I think. It will just page you until your timer turns off.

OR...

Survellence (m/s) would be rather expensive. You'd need a power inverter, a vcr, and a night vision mini cam. I'd would be cool to have, but youre looking probably at $300-500. This dude I knew had a full system in his car. He just used normal cameras, one mounted rear, the other center face forward. So It is possible, just depends on how discreet you want to be.

Or, you could wire in a one minute timer in between your door sensor and the arming wiring. How you would do this I have no clue. ask brandon.
