Low Idle w/ new exhaust
I just installed and APEX World Sport cat-back exhaust on my 94 accord and now when I idle it idle's a fraction to low, and causes my car to have a new vibration. If i barely push in on the gas it goes away.
Is there an easy fix to make the car idle just a hair more??? I'm talkin a very minimal adjustment. |

an an f22a1 engine there is a screw that will adjust your idle rpms. it is licated on the tb, on the upper front passanger side corner of the intake plentum. Disconect the idle sensor first with the engine on and then turn that screw until you have a normal idle, then connect the sensor back in. When you connect the sensor the engine starts reving up and down very fast you gotta turn that in the opposite dirrection until you get a normal idle. For the engine to take complete use of your new mod reset the ecu beforew adjusting the idle. take the ecu fuse out for 5 minutes, then put it back in, turn off all your electrical devices in the car (fans, stereo, ac, no lights) and let the car idle for about 10 minutes, than take the car for a ride aound the block, making sure you do not race it or gun it. normal casual driving. This will cause the ecu to remap the fuel curve. If after this you still have low idle then go to the adjusting part that i told you in the begining.

i agree, reset the ecu first before adjusting the idle..
btw, turning that screw on the tb clockwise will lower rpm, turning it the other way will raise rpm.. |

Always reset the ECU when doing any mod.

Is the ECU fuse up in the fuse box to the left and below the stearing wheel. If so, is labled ECU, or what?

JUDOANT, here's the proper way to reset an ECU..
Do this 1-When the engine is cool, disconnect negative. Leave it for 5-10 minutes.. 2- Reconnect it . 3- Off all accessories. 4- Start the car, and let it warm up until the idle drops to lowest point. around 600rpm (not 6000).. If you are NOT living in very cold weather, I suggest you let it run for around 10 minutes.. Just to make sure the idle settles. 5- Then off the car. 6- You're ECU was properly reset, so you can start the car.. Everything should be fine. Good luck! PS. Your username is very cute.. ![]()

Wow! So even if I do not have an Idle problem I should reset the ECU everytime I do a mod? In that case I should reset my ECU tomorrow because I just installed my Tanabe Racing MEdallion and my AEM CAI, right?
