Chemistry Experience
I was curious if any of you had some funny/interesting stories with chemicals. I'm in AP chem right now and really bored.
We messed up once during one of our experiment so my friend thought it would be a bright idea to wash out Magnesium out while it was about 480 degrees C with Hydrochloric acid.... Let's just say we made magnesium chloride and my friend had a face full of pure hydrogen gas shot into his face and anyone around. We had bunsun burners going across the room as well. It was good that the room is big. ![]()

When I was in HS a kid ate his lab. I dont remember what it was..but still.
Another kid stole a container of iodine. The dumb part, was the container was open and there was a red trail leading straight to his locker. And then just run of the mill crap like students having their gas burners on full blast trying to heat a little vile to 60C |

I've never really had a chemistry class, but we used to do "backyard chemistry" when I was a teenager. We'd make compression bombs and stuff. Just take a glass bottle with a screw on lid and fill it most of the way with vinegar. Then take a plastic baggy with a bit of baking soda, stick it in, screw on the cap, and shake it like hell. After a few seconds, throw it as hard as you can and run like hell. Haha. Good times.

take an M.R.E. chemical heater thing crunch it up and put it in a 2liter bottle with some water, cover. Watch the water begin to boil and release hydrogen gas then BOOM! Add in the contents of the little bottle of tobasco sauce before covering for that tear gas affect.
