fiber imagesm100% all the way. 4 or 5 of my friends went with body kits and/or hood from vis and i dont think a single one of them was happy(quality, fittiment, shipping, customer service... something was wrong)

besides fiber images makes the best hoods, are a perfect fit and are on of the lightest

rolled edges add weight.they need to make the hood thicker for it to fit right, if i real correctly(havnt researched any of this in 2-3 years)

the rolled edges from what i have seen add strneght to the hood, and don't add that much weight. you might see few grams more weight but that's about it. it all depends on the thinckness and weight of the material. also the resin they might use are gonna be an important factor in the weight of the hood.

every rolled hood ive seen has a real thick layer of resin/epoxy covering it to give it that finished look. it might only add 5-8 lbs, but when you could have a 12lb hood, then it becomes 20lbs. its semi substantial.

as far as strenght, i would never go without hoodpins on a carbon fiber hood, expecially f you wana drag or autox the car. but be careful, the hood puts you in another class. i cant stress enough the quality of fiber images. they stand by their products, which VIS will not. i can get pictures of my buddies hood from vis if you want... it looked like a good cf hood from far away, but it ended up being fiber glass with a few layers of carbon fiber that wasnt woven perfect, and VIS told him it is a minor cosmetic defect and they arnt replacing shit since its still 99% functional.
