windows
Ok my drivers side window has been driving me crazy for the last 3 months. One day it just decided to fall off the track, so i thought, no big deal, open up the door panel, throw it back on. So i've done that about 12 times now.
I think the reason the problem started is when some of my stereo wiring got caught up in the window (don't ask, crossover fell out of place, and the wire got chewed up in the window motor trackbar). So i fixed that problem, and there didn't seem to be any damage (after all it was only a wire) but my window never seems right. One time i tore the whole door apart, weather stripping and all and fixed a piece of the weatherstripping that i had missed, and i thought for sure that i had fixed it. However, after driving to school this morning with the windows down, went to roll it up, and it only made it halfway. fuck. So i took it apart and fixed it when i got home, but i was wondering if there's any special grease i could use to fix it or do you guys think i should just get a new track from some OEM honda part website?

You can use lithium along the tracks or spray some silicone lubricant.

yeah i just lucked out and looked around the house for some lube, managed to find some silicon spray, so hopefully that'll do the trick.

I had the same problem a few times with my drivers-side window. I think it has to do with the design or lack of factory grease. Water, I belive gets in the traks and makes the window stick/jump when going up/down. I say that only because mine came off track only when I had the windows cracked when it was raining (smoker). :o
Lithium grease works well, but you need to get the whole track(taking door panel off again) Use silicone spray, use it regularly. I prefer once every three months. This way you can spray in the tracks (w/ windows down) and it will work its way down the entire track. This also works for windows that squeeeeek ![]() |
