So i was investigating my car...

and i found a little hidden switch underneath the steering wheel, so i got curious, i followed this switch to a little box and the little box was a Alpine Mobile Security System....except i cannot figure out what buttons do what and what the switch is for. It is NOT a two way switch, you can click it once and then it returns to the original position. I locked my doors with me in my car, and then i pushed and held the switch and the alarm goes off like nuts...so i am rather confused aan di was unable to find anything on the web. Any othe rsuggestions?

this is the unit Alpine Security

go to an audio/security installer and ask them to look at the car. the ones around here are pretty cool, and would do it for free. i think you are talking about the vallet over ride switch, whcih will disable the alarm in case you lose the remote or the remote breaks

Some alarms have a one way switch like that to allow you to "break" into your own car if you lose the remote or something. My friend had one where you had to unlock your car with the key, the alarm would go off, and you had to put the key into the ignition and flip that switch (or something like that) to make it stop.
