Got my Accord back
So I finally got my Accord back!!!
She looks great except for the crappy tint on the new door's window, which will be replaced with better tint, and some scratches on the inside of the new door. Of course it's a used door, but they can't be seen when the door is closed. I'll probably paint over them. She rides well. The only real thing that I notice is that the doors and trunk don't open/close the same as they used to. All 3 doors other than drivers latch tightly, so they're stiffer to unlatch/latch. The trunk opens nicely but takes a lot more pressure to latch. The driver's door, though, has a little bit of adjustment during opening/closing. I can feel the door moving when it is almost closed, like it shifts up a little to latch. Kinda annoying but I guess a little to be expected too. So the total came out to about $8300 on the repair bill....now it's time to learn how to drive. b |

Yeah I didn't expect it to be the same.
Since she's been hacked some I think I'm more open to modifying her some more.....after driving the lude for a while I feel like I'm driving an SUV sitting so high up in the Accord.....ugh. And no power with crappy gear ratios. b |

In a way I would've preferred it if they totalled the car out, but the insurance company wanted to repair and I didn't feel like fighting with them. $9100 would have been the cutoff for totalling it out, and I'm sure if I had rental car reimbursement they would've just done it.....because it would've easily cost them the difference with how long the repairs took. Mental note.....get rental car reimbursement whether you have another ride or not. The insurance company will want to get things squared away more quickly.
I got the door realigned and it opens/closes normally, just like it used to. I haven't driven it enough to determine whether the rattle is gone yet. But the fokkers didn't put the Accord logo back on and didn't fix the center console, which they removed and didn't put back together correctly. I'm through being nice, now I'm pissed......they do very high quality body work and paint work, but they lack on everything else. b |
