If you seriously think about it, the prices are rediculous. Pretty soon people won't be able to afford to drive their cars. So lets say prces are 2 bucks a gallon. And I (and every other american for the sake of argument) has a 10 gallon tank. Hence it takes me 20 bucks to fill my tank. Now lets see there's probably (lets make a very conservative estimate) 100,000,000 people who own a vehicle (many who own more). so 20x100,000,000=2 BILLION!!!
Oh and let's just say that that is only for one week. Let's times it by 52 and figure that the oil companies (combined) make 104 Billion, er at least that money is floating around getting paid to someone. Now here's the real question, how much do you really thing the us is paying for one barrel of oil that we pratically stole from the iraqi's??? just a thought

i think they changed the policy towards more national drilling than import of crude oil. And i think OPEC is ready to cut the production one more time again this summer. It's not gonna be only the prices of gas that will go up, but just about anything else.
and the prices here are not too bad compared to Europe where a gallon of gas closes in and goes above $5.

Yeah i hate this. Should of kept the integra since its a 4 banger but the 6 banger requires premium too.

Yes, gas prices do suck. Luckily they arent as bad around here as most places. Thankfully I can run the Regular which is cheaper, everything I own gets atleast 30mpg, and my Ninja 250R get 75mpg! I love that bike..

Wow you don't know a damn thing about this do you? You think there is one man sitting fat and pretty deciding that he wants oil prices to go up? As for us stealing oil.. fine we did.. whatever.. but please don't complain about it at the same time.. sit the F down and color. Can't stand a fucking person who complains about prices of gas then shits a twinkie because of the oil we "stole" from iraq. |

Gas is too cheap. Gas should be like 3.50+, maybe even 5 depending the mood i'm in. US cars produce so much fucking polution it's rediculous. I say we scrap all old cars or tax them out the @$$, all states should inforce Fedeal mandated Air Quality regulations, and Saftey / Damaged vehicle inspections.
Old cars make so much polution, something like 60%+ of all vehicle made air polution comes from cars that shouldn't even be on the road. If all states cracked down on vehicle made polution the problem would be more then 1/2 solved just by that alone. As for damaged/unsafe/broken/beater type cars go, the local DMV's and Police need to crack down and change some rules/laws. I saw a guy hit a muffler the other day, mufler was rusted as f*ck and should have been replaced forever ago. I guess i'm the only one who cares about the air he breaths?

OMG.. yes please let's scrap all old cars lol.. that's just dumb.. sorry. I have an older car I have driven 100 miles in the last 2 years.. as is the case with MOST people with older cars. Your car probably makes more pollution in a week than mine has in the past years years.

Not to mention your bike.. I bet thats real EPA friendly as well. Before you know it, the damn lobbist will get thier ban on two strokes, and our 4 stroke dirtbikes will have catalytic converts. Screw 'em all!

Let me rephrase that... Scrap all the old beater piece of crap cars. The old classics, historical, etc, we can keep those, just maybe tax them. They're not nessasary and mile for mile it creates more polution, not how many miles you drive it per year vs your other car.

last i drove past a gas station it was like 1.87 or 1.89. And i've been bitchin about that. I'm think that I might have to start whorin myself just to get gas. I mean sure my car gets great gas mileage compared to say my parents....but still, they make more money than I do. They just did a news story on how many people are buying motorcycles now around my area since they get better gas mileage. At least those fools will have to wear a helmet since they're new riders. I still think that's the stupidest law ever thought of.

Our prices here in Canada are up from 55c/L to 90c/L which is a larger jump then 10c on a gallon of gas even when you take into consideration the exchange. I do feel for you, we're in for alot worse this summer.
Though most of us drive relatively good cars when it comes to gas milage, thats because honda has taken a responsible stance on MPG. But when you look at how far people drive to work, the size of their motors and so on. You notice people live further from work to support larger homes. This cycle of driving an hour to work is what keeps the oil companies in control of prices. If for a moment people started to live closer to work, car pool or use other means to get to work. You'd see the price of oil drop because consumption would be on the decline. Everytime I see a 'light truck' drive by I shutter. Now if you think this is bad wait until china comes out of third world status and the demand for oil doesnt doublt or trip but more then 10times the daily amount of oil will need to be produced to meet the worlds needs. If it gets any worse it will be almost as bad as the engery shortage of the 70's where people drove smaller cars. Maybe now we'll finally see more bio diesel and hydro cars. |
