I knew college life in a small town would be different and some of you have listened to me rant before about how much I hate this town...now I've got a new reason. Just within the last couple of weeks I've noticed there'a ton of racists here. Examples? Why of course...

I went to gas up my truck and buy some soda at the gas station down the street. On my way out I notice these rednecks sitting in the back of a pickup. One of them asks me for a cigarette and the coversation goes something like as follows:

Redneck: Hey boss (I shit you not, he called me boss), you got a smoke I can bum from ya?
Me: (reaching into my pocket) Sure man, but they're menthols
Redneck: Ah fuck it then. I don't smoke none of them niggerettes.
Me: (shrugging shoulders)
Redneck: How can you smoke them thangs?
Me: (while throwing my thirtysomething cents in change in his face) I don't know man...but here, go buy yourself some GPCs you fuckin white trash crotchgobblin.

Second example:

Being so close to the Oklahoma border we have a lot of native americans that pass through town. Apparently some of the folks who have lived here their whole lives don't get that these people aren't Mexican. I was in the Walmart here waiting to get rung up when a native american couple passed by. The two guys behind me start talking and one of them says something like "damnit...why don't they just go back to where they come from" (I am not making this dialogue up...this is the way people talk here). I started laughing histarically and turned around and asked him to repeat what he just said. Looking a little confused he repeated his little "go back home" bullshit which caused me to laugh even harder. I told him (in between belly laughs) "man...look...those were NATIVE AMERICANS. They were here before any of us. If anything they should be telling YOU to go back home. If you can't even tell the difference between the people you hate, keep your redneck mouth shut you fuckin retard". He then proceeded to try and explain he thought they were mexican...like that would make it ok.

Damnit I hate this place.
