aftermarket exhaust question

I was looking around on Ebay and noticed that the cost of a Hi-flow cat. conv. and a muffler is cheaper than ordering the entire cat-back system. Couldn't I just get those two and have a local engine shop put the tubing on themselves? Would this be cheaper than just getting the full system and installing it *maybe* by myself? What if I brought this to a garage? I have a 93 accord, BTW.

i would personally get the whole thing. may be more expensive but down the road HP gain and Tq will be greater. the sound of your car will be more throatier.

well, it would be a custom exhaust, you will get as much, to just under the amount you would get with a full after market exhaust setup

the reputable aftermarket exhausts are tuned for the last drop of hp you can squeeze out of. the custom shop piping will crap out in 1 year
