It's a technicality really. You'll lose more weight but it's all water weight from sweating due to keeping more heat through better insulation. Once you drink a good amount of water it'll be back up to normal.

True you lose more water weight, however there's truth to losing real weight faster as well.

The extra clothes weigh more, so you're hauling more weight (and you're less aerodynamic if you run outside) so you work that much harder to run the same distance.

How much of a difference you'll see is a different story.

You can also run with ankle and wrist weights, although that would probably be uncomfortable. I have seen some people run with the small 1-5 lb. dumbells in each hand, gives you a better upper body workout and makes your run a little harder.

A good friend i Kickbox with is taking a fight on Dec 13'th (free style). He cut from 200lbs to the required weight of 175 in a month and a half. Its funney, as soon as his last fight at 175 was over he had the weight back in about a week lol - at the people i train with jokingly call him the "skinny kid".

that is absolute hell on your joints. i wouldnt do it, i know a friend of my family is a chiropractor and he told my mom about how bad it was for your joints if you do it too much. i know my knees are beat to hell from skating on them every day, which is about the same effect of having 10 lb weights on each foot and running around with them on. cold weather or standing too long makes my knees and ankles hurt

Yeah I guess I shouldn't have mentioned ankle weights at least, they are pretty bad. But it's not that bad to run with some weights in your hands AFAIK. Of course you have to build up to it, you don't just start off with heavy weights.

But running isn't exactly the lowest impact exercise on your joints anyways.....especially if you're overweight and trying to use running to lose weight. It's just bad on your knees and ankles.

I think I f'd my right knee from mtn. biking....still hurts from 3 weeks ago. Dammit.
