B16 or B18

I was reading a post and everyone fighting which is better, the b16 or te b18. I have a 1991 CRX, and planning to do the B16 swap, But the post was saying that the B18 was so much better. If someone could tell me the stats on the B18. I just want to know if there is a kit i could buy to drop in a B18 and how much they cost?

WOW...

Do a LOT more research before you even consider swapping ANY motor in...

B18 v B16 isn't really even a fight... you need a head code to tell you which one would win...

A b16b is better than a b18b possibly than a b18c1 but CERTAINLY not better than a b18c5

A b16a 1, 2, or 3 is better than a b18 a, or b but CERTAINLY not better than ANY OTHER 1.8.

And then it also depends on your future plans... I'd prefer the long gears, higher displacemt, and lower rpm revving of a b18a or b combined with it's lower cost if I was going to go turbo...

but if I wanted to go all motor I'd want a b18c1 or b18c5 or POSSIBLY a b16b.

You may want to mix and match parts... lots of folks prefer a b18c1 engine with a b16b or b18c5 tranny. or a b18b with a b16 or b18c5 or b18c1 head on it... (ls/vtec).

Any way I'd suggest going to honda-tech.com and SEARCHING for the key terms of any question you would want to ask... BE SURE to search both recent and archieved posts...

AND DO NOT POST QUESTIONS UNLESS YOU HAVE SEARCHED THUROUGHLY...

You will be swiftly repremanded if you ask a question that's been covered...

Its all preference - if you are gonna boost then get a B18B or B16a - if you are gonna go NA/Nos, then get a B18C1/C5.

Not that you cant Juice a B16A, but it really all comes down to preference.

These type o threads all turn into arguments - im not gonna throw my hat in the ring this time.
