Oil Change

Ok i done the oil change but i left the old oil filter, it had 10000k's on it is there any problem with that does the oil filter last another 10000k's or should i change it now i know that i should of change it @ the same time has the oil but has i dont race its a daily driven car i left it out, i went to 2 mecanics and they said that it should be ok has the filter is the original Honda 1, could any one give me there opinion because these mecanics are are not specific Honda mecanics, im planing on changing my oil and filter but the oil only has 2000k's, the oil i used is Castrol GTX Magnatech 10w 40 i fild it up between the 2 holes on the stick, i keep on cheking the level every week and its just a bit darker because of the oil that was in the filter any help apreciated

Anyway, yes, you should change the filter at the same time you change your oil. 10k on a filter is way too much IMO.

buddy, CHANGE THE FILTER..i only read half of your post but always change the filter...if you just change the oil that is not really doing any good because the old oil filter will contain contaminants and grime and metal flakes (perhaps) and needs to be replaced...YO

You should change the filter everytime you change the oil..
Its a filter, so it'll last however long you want it to last, but its less efficient in whay it does. To recap, new oil + old filter = not a great idea..

you mean kilometers right? if so thats about 6200miles, depending on the quality of filter 12k miles isnt too bad, its not good either.

I would just do another oil change in about 2k kilometers and replace the filter at the same time.

yep ill run like this for a nother 2k kilometers then im going to replace the filter at the same time has oil change
