They're valves which are domed out or flat instead of dished in... this raises the compression (minimally) the low comp. valves are just standard designed valves (like stock ie dished)...
The problem with this is that A. it can TOTALLY screw up the a/f swirl design of your comb. chamber B. it raises the comp. like .3-.5...oooo that ought to help out a lot the nitride coating and the fact that they're forged valves makes them better imo not the comp. raising. Try searching google before you ask Q's... I found that out in like 3 seconds after looking at what you were looking at on nopi. P.S. here's what I read... http://www.inlinefour.com/skunracval.html

sry, i jsut didn't think that valves were too "high performance" like tubos, superchargers and nitrous. i'll post there next time. but one more question--- If i replace the valves, what else should i replace? i would think to replace the springs and the rocker arms too.... i like you guys to help me out, i don't like to go on google 1. because i am lazy, and 2. i like hearing it from people i KNOW, know a lot about cars. |

valves are an engine component...
Any way... it's not a matter of "performance" like with a turbo or nitros... is a matter of the engine being capable of handling the power and or heat created by these parts. As far as valves go... I would suggest companies like ferrea (sp?) manley crower (I've never heard much about their valves but there are currently LOTS of problems with crower's cams for some apps... they snap. so draw your own conclusions.). The point is... valves... turbo's... engines... ALL of this stuff that you NEED to KNOW about... you can't just pop on a honda chat board and expect to walk out with all the answers... especially in a ask a question get a response way... If you spent HOURS reading every post that had ANY tech in it on ALL the websites not just this one... you could learn a lot but still not enough to start REALLY building a car like your talking about... YOU NEED TO USE GOOGLE... we can't beam our time spent learning this stuff into your head... You have to spend A LOT of time searching out answers on a MUCH deeper level than you are currently. Also check out howstuffworks.com they have great explinations and cover LOTS of things.
