Crest Whitestrips sucks!

Dude. Okay, I have been using these things for the past 2 weeks right and they really do work BUT its a ***** to get them to stay on your teeth for half an hour. Your saliva loosens up the strip and it turns into a battle to keep them on your teeth.

I brush it off after use. And as for the Colgate brush, I used that too (all the way through). It was alright. Tasted nasty.

Seems that some teeth are VERY sensitive to the whitening agent used.

I would be very worried if you guys started using these products at your age. This are not meant for teenages/young adults, they will have LONG term side effects that include more staining and possibly long term nerve damage. I'm not sure if its really called nerve damage but its when your teeth start to become sensative.

I take very good care of my smile and my teeth are very important to me. I was talking to my dentist, who teaches at UofT (major uni here) and she told me that my teeth are the whitest on the natural scale of teeth and that if i wanted the "fake" looking whiteness I would be better off to have them treated by her as these products cause damage to your teeth. Now she used some terms in that convo that I dont remember at this time so forgive me for that, but considering how much my teeth mean to me and howmuch they should mean to you, dont use em!

well i actually went to the dentist and he made molds of my teeth and i used whitner on them for a while, a couple of years ago. the reason i had to have this done is because when i was younger i had phenominia and the treatment for that ended up staining my 2 front teeth really bad. i looked like id been smoking since i was 5. i dont even smoke. so anyways i used what the dentist gave me, and now a couple of years later its starting to show through again. i brush 3 times sometimes 4 times a day and floss once every day and use mouth wash 30 seconds 1ce a day. never had a cavity in my life

I absolutely love Crest Whitestrips!! I've been using them for about a year and I've had really good results and no problems. I understand where you guys are coming from on how they can move around, but I found that if I just smooth them out with my tongue every few minutes they usually stay put for me. I've also found that the results last much longer than the six months suggested before using them again if you don't smoke or drink much caffeine.

My teeth mean a lot to me as well and I've been very fortunate in my life to never have had braces or a cavity, and I feel pretty confident in using this product made by a brand that also manufactures other dental products that have been recommended by dentists and used by consumers for years and years. It's also a much, much less expensive and less time consuming alternative to having your teeth professional whitened.

Hrm.. Just be lucky you guys have real teeth.. When I was 13 I got hit in the mouth with a line drive baseball and it knocked out my front teeth.. They put caps on what was left, but I think I should have went with the partial. They are buggin me really bad now (over 10 years later.) Im probably going to have to go have something done about them again. Which sucks bad!:o

Wow racing rice, the same thing happened to my friend. Playing baseball and knocked out his 2 front teeth as well. I saw a picture of what his teeth looked like when they first started doing work to repair it, they looked like 2 chiclets...lol. But now you cant even tell.

Just to clear this up, you wouldn't see problems in the first year. YOu will see the problem 5 years down the road once you've stopped using them and forgotten all about white strips.. best of luck with your teeth, i hope for everyones sake i'm wrong

Care to share what problems I may run into 5 years down the road? Hell, maybe I should start smoking cause we all know the effects of that, but so many do it anyway!

well for starters your teeth will stain easier after using these products. You might develope sensative teeth, meaning that eating ice cream could become painful. Chances are that you will damage your enamel (sp?) which wont be apparent until its too late. If you know anything about teeth its that your enamel is one of the most important things between you and bad teeth, so anything you do that could possibly damage it becomes high risk.

I'm only repeating what my dentist has told me, and I personally would like whiter teeth but have held back on these relatively new products.

I asked my dentist before using them and acutually he mentioned Whitestrips before I even got a chance to tell him. He told me it was the safest to use out of all of the other over the counter stuff.

You also forgot that they might possibly ruin your teeth forever.

Yep agreed...y'all should feel lucky to have all your real teeth. I dont have my real front teeth either. I was tripped roller skating when I was like 9 yrs old and have under gone numerous procedures to get my teeth lookin the way they do. I've gone through a root canal in both teeth, then re-done, braces, gum surgery, and now permanant porcelin crowns put on. Now granted since I got them so young in life, I'm going to have to get them redone at least once more in my life. My dentist who did my crowns (the dentist I still go to) said that when I get my done again, that I should get my teeth bleached (even though they aren't that stained now) so that when making the crowns it'll be easier to match color. So as of now, I'm not even capable of using any sort of OTC whiteners...which sucks, cuz you know how most people feel about white teeth....

Oh and as for the effects of teeth becoming sensitive or something like that, there is a lil thing called Sensodine..which helps with combating sensitive teeth. Sure some people will experience extreme effects with the strips or any other OTC whitener, but I think those instances are rare, and those are the people that should already know not the use them cuz they know they have "weaker" teeth.

I'm obsessed with my teeth. Maybe it's because I went through absolute hell to get them the way they are now. At the same time I had bottom braces and then this little device attached to my upper jaw in the roof of my mouth. There was this little key thing that went in and then little by little that broke apart my upper jaw everyday to make it bigger and then all the new bone eventually regenerated. Then my teeth fit all nicely and I had braces for 2 years. I've been using whitening toothpaste for as long as I can remember and I'm hooked on the Colgate Simply White stuff that you paint on.
