Fuel Rail
I recently got a AEM Fuel Rail. I heard two differnet things about them.
1) They only work is u have injectors, pump, and/or NOS. 2) They work great with a cold air intake & with other airflow mods. What do you think? |

1. sort of.... they're basically pointless unless your car has HUGE fuel demands (ie forced induction/nitros)
2. No. the stock fuel rail is not what restricts fuel flow the regulator is... even using higher pressures in the rail do not guarantee more fuel flow the only way to ENSURE more fuel is bigger injectors or reprogrammed injectors. the stock fuel rail will accomodate either option just fine. so a fuel rail is really only a dress up item or if your have SERIOUS air flow and reprogrammed fuel maps.

oc you don't really need it either...
get a pressure riser or bigger injectors. your best bet would to get a switch to go between 2 fuel programms so that you don't run rediculously rich while your not nawzing yo.

none unless the engine can move enough air to burn all that fuel.
ie. turbo or supercharger. or a SERIOUS na build. see the thing with honda's is that they run the car as close to stoich as possible. so even if you add something capable of over fueling the crap out of it the o2 reading will cause the ecu to reduce the amount of fuel being put through. So if you make your car a fuel delivering machine with out the air to burn it then the ecu will just under drive all the fuel stuff till it runs around stoich.

the fuel rail may add a small amount of HP..i believe import tuner did a test on the aem fuel rail and it did add a couple HP, but this is with an intake and another mod. i don't think you will lose any horsepower..
i'm sure if you re-mapped your fuel and all that other good stuff you'll gain a good amount of HP.
