How many watch this?
I can't help it, but everytime it comes on, I just can't help but watch Horsepower TV. Do any of you watch it too? It's awesom to watch them work on the older cars doing interior and exterior restorations, and engine work, but they also have a project 92-95 Honda Civic DX that they are working on. After buying the car for $4000, they had about another $4000 to spend on modifying the car. Some of the parts that they used were not the best brands, but to see how much horsepower those parts actually add in the dyno tests will assure you that bolt ons don't give the most power in the world. They already added an Arospeed intake (the one that looks like an intercooler), a header (forgot what kind it was), and a Warlock catback exhaust system. All that added about 12 horsepower, but today they added an MSD ignition system, some 8.3mm spark plug wires, and a very good brand of spark plugs, but I forgot also what kind they are, but I know they are great. On the next show, they are planning on adding a Zex Nitrous kit to it, so all of you that wanna know how to do it can see it for yourselves.
Some guy came on the show today and helped them out that had a Civic with a GSR swap. The AEM intake that he had was the biggest diameter intake system that I've ever seen before. I was surprised, cause I've seen a lot of them...lol. If you wanna watch it, check your local listings.........it's great! |

I used to have it on my sattelite, but the dish is currently wrapped up and sitting in my closet, since we are in an apartment temporarily (house is being finished!)
Once I have it up, I might check out the show. I saw it once or twice and it seemed nice! ![]() |

Sometimes, but I think its pretty stupid when they do that Civic. They never buy the popular name brand parts like AEM, DC, etc. but instead they grab some other crap and stick it on. The show isn't exactly informative either.

yeah ive been watching it. I saw the episode where they bought the civic, and a previous episode where they where showing a few already done civics on there showroom. That episode pissed me off cause they werent even interested in it. You get a domestic muscle car and they talk about it for half the show. WHen they popped the hood on this civc (that had a swap), they basically said"oh thats nice", they looked at his sound system and that was it. they dont even care about import tuning.
And yeah that show doesnt tell you enough to do anything. Here is how we put a big brake kit on a camaro: remove old brakes, put on new brakes. And your done. the most technical info they give you is how much to torque bolts down to. thats what Chilton's is for. |

Yeah, maybe they are not the most informative people in the world about information on Hondas and all, but where else can you see something like that. As far as I know, they are the only people on my local television channels that even have a project Honda. I like it...it takes the boredom time off my hands, and it's better than nothing.
They are a mostly muscle car show though, and that's why they spend most of their time talking about them, but at least they do add the Honda in there, so they must have some respect for it don't you think. |

Maybe it's respect, or maybe it's more demand for Hondas/Imports!

Very true. Got a point there. Maybe it's just a ratings thing. I don't know, but at least they have one on there for me (us) to watch. |

you notice that any track footage they have will show an all motor honda for about 2 seconds and then never again. its also camaros, mustangs, and older muscle cars. I want to see some honda runs!

Yeah I noticed that too. When they put that Zex Nitrous kit in it, I hope they do a run with it but show the whole thing. I think they should swap some internals on that thing and turbo it too...they have the money left to do it. I think at some point they will. |
