I thought intakes HP gains where based on a percentage? and i thought cooler air means more dense air = more air, period! Hot air intake pipes means less air, doesnt it? it is said that for every 10 degree F, means 1% gains or loss in HP? Shorter intakes, mean higher volocity, i think its more like tube diameter, the smaller the higher the volocity, of course if you go to small, then it becomes restrictive...The problem with small dia. piping short or long is that you loose volume, without volume you loose torque....in most cases with one streight small diameter, you will get peek HP but no torque. So you loose HP and torque in the lower and mid range, but kick A$$ in the higher range, because the air is supplied quicker to your high reving engine.....one more thing, bigger is not always better either (when it comes to intakes), when using large diameter pipes, like enjen ( i think thats the name) you cause the bottle neck effect, which can be worse at the throttle body, killing your volocity completely, same old song and dance!....my 2 cents, im alldone.
