most peeps with 4-5-6 gen ACCORD who go with 17s will either do 215/45 or 215/40 ... 205 is in theory is what you shoud get, as is a 40 profile tire.. Why do may peeps go with 45?? I did it to have some extra protection for the rims..


8.5in wheels are a little too wide for our cars.. So with 7-7.5 and a 215 tire. the outer edge of the tire will be pretty much flat with the outer side of the rim. Otherwise the outer face of the rim will be standing out a little more. For aesthetics 215 is especially more convenient if you keep a higher psi in your tire..
Higher pressure = stiffer sidewall, and if you hit something the tire will blow and the rim has a better chance of survival..
