it really isnt common practive to do so.
If for whatever reason the conductance has diminished over the years then go ahead.. But, like I said, I doubt it.. you can try to check the conductance of the ones on your car and compare them to how a brand new wire of the same quality/application/awg would perform.. waste of time!
