I would like to correct on this part. I ran 10psi on my stock engine for 6months. Not until I pushed the boost up to 15 (had to win the race) did I blow my engine. Im sure it would have blown eventually but compression was looking good for all 6 months of 10psi. How much boost a stock engine can take is up to that ENGINE. Not car but engine. I ran 10psi on my eclipse for 6months but I have friends that blew their engine running 7-8psi. No matter what any dealer will tell you, EVERY ENGINE IS DIFFERENT. Some are just built better than others. Some are just faster than others and produce more hp. In a magazine I have, they dyno'd a stock Skyline GT-R V-SPEC (EBCNR33). 244.1hp to the rear wheels (stock). Using a 15% driveline loss estimate, they calculated 287hp at the flywheel. Whats this?? 287hp?? Nissan says that engine produces 280hp. Im sure someone owns that exact car with same engine and it produces only a mere 276hp at the flywheel. From all my babbling I hope you learned something. Im trying to say that just because one Honda b16a blows at 6psi doesnt mean yours will. Just pay attention if your gonna boost higher than what the manufacturer recommends. Compression test before installation, compression after a week at whatever boost level. If all looks good leave the boost and do another compression test a week later. If results still look good, do a compression test in 3-4 weeks. If at any time your compression lowered, just drop the boost a bit. I hope this made sense, im damn drunk.
