would u call me a traitor?

okay, i'm struggling with a decision... i can't decide whether i should keep my car or buy a new 2002 toyota tacoma. okay, i know it's not a honda, or a car for that matter, but you gotta understand that i don't have any car friends at all (not even one) and all the people i hang out with are all mini truckers. and recently i've been really interested and love the whole mini truckin scene. at first i wanted to keep both, and do the car/truck thing. but i soon realized that i can't really afford to fix both up. my car's paid off already, so i'd just have to sell it and use the money for a down payment... but i'm so confused, i don't know what to do. i love honda's...always will, so this is why i'm torn.

i don't know. i'm a bit biased against the truck/suv scene. i really don't like them at all. so you will get only one answer from me: keep the lude. So what if your friends drive trucks and suv's ? you have a car and that will make you unique in your circle or friends.

keep the lude! i did almost buy a 02 Tacoma though, i think the gas milage and the insurance, really leaned me towards the Civic plus i'm REALLY a car person, buy a truck is nice to have to haul crap in every now and then, and i would have definatly have lowered it. But I say keep the lude!! whatever you do , don't leave Hondastyle for some crappy toyota site

I wouldn't call you a traitor at all. I'm not sure your getting into mini trucking for the right reasons though. Just b/c your friends are doing it doesn't mean you have to switch. I'm not a huge minitruck fan, but I have lots of respect for the things that their owners do to them.

I guess I didn't help with this... in the end, you'll have to figure out what you like best. Going from a 92 lude to a new Tacoma would be nice though.

No don't sweat it you are not a traitor.. once you have your tacoma you will realize what a mistake you made and you'll get another Honda Just Kiddin Girl!!!!

Get whatever you want.. as long as you rock the car, make it look good and drive safely we will still allow you to stay on the site..

BTW get some pics of your friends mini-trucks

You should do what makes you happy! And if sportin' a 2002 Toyota Tocoma is it, then so be it. Just don't get it for the wrong reasons (example: because your friends have trucks). So, whatever vehicle you may choose to drive, we'll still like you just the same!

I forgot to add...

If you get the Taco, just turbocharge it... They make several new kits for them. Or if nothing else, get them to put a TRD Supercharger on it. It'll be covered under warrenty and everything.

Tacoma's are Okay. Just be careful what year you get. I watched a safety show about SUV's and Truck's. The Tacoma was in there and got a REALLY bad crash rating at 35 MPH. It was for the side impact. This was (I think) the 2000 model, maybe 1999 not 100% sure. Just check out what kind of safety rating. They only have to test it for 30 MPH, by law. Also if you get the 2 wheel drive, remember they STINK in the snow. So you might wont to keep your car, or get a beater for winter time use.

well now i'm more confused for one thing, we have NO snow here, so it doesn't even matter. yes i'm looking at the 2wd obviously for the whole minitrucking reason...of course it'll get a drop right away. i went yesterday to test drive it and well, i fell in love with it. it's a really pretty truck, and i think it's a pretty good deal 12,697. and just to clarify, i'm not getting it BECAUSE of my friends (like to fit in)..but it's because of them that i got into mini trucking, and it's really sparked my interest. but i'm not getting it to be included with them or anything, but being around them gave me the chance to learn about trucks, and really get an appreciation for them. i dunno if i explained that right or not. i'm really not sure what to do. i can keep both for a while.. then decide later whether i should sell the lude or not, since it's already paid off. i've looked for a used tacoma and there isn't one in this whole stinkin town (just 4x4's). i might just drive out to pheonix and try to find one there :-/ OR my other option is to buy a 98 gmc sonoma from my dad (he owns a used car lot), which only costs 4800, and i can definately keep both vehicles. the reason i want a tacoma more is because they're more rare than sonoma's/s10's. in this town there is only 2 other fixed up tacomas (one is my bf's, the other is owned by a jerk who doesn't know anything about it) i think it'd be cute to have a tacoma like my bf, but again that's not the sole reason i'm getting it either, it's just a plus aaaahhh...what should i do???

*UPDATE*

well, i did it...i went a bought myself a brand new tacoma with only 8 miles (yay for me since i've never owned a car with less than 100,000 miles on it!!). it's a cool little truck and i'm really exited to get started on modding it (show). so for now, i have both vehicles, my taco and my lude. but i might have to sell my lude soon, we'll see just wanted to keep you guys up to date.

yes of course i'll post pics as soon as i take some. i mean for now it's all stock of course, i'm hoping to give it a 3/4 drop by next month sometime. i'll post pics then...

as for the lude, i have an interested buyer, but who know's if it'll go through. i really wish i could keep both, but it's not realistic at this point.
