If you get stiff graphite shafts, make sure you get extra stiff, not just stiff. You'd probably have to custom order these in irons, and in drivers, only low loft clubs (about 9 degrees and lower) have this. If you aren't experienced, you won't hit those drivers too well. Its a dilemma, and you'll probably end up with the best set of clubs if you go to a good shop and tell them your situation. Just don't let them talk you into spending lots of dough... they're good at that. 250-300 set of clubs = buy a used set of nicer irons. You might be able to find a decent set for 350-400 but under that, you're pushing it. If you try them out and hit them fine though, go for some cheaper clubs. As for pre-fit ones hitting like custom fit clubs... If you actually get custom fit, you will hit better. The only problem being that if you swing weird because you aren't great at golf yet, and you get fit for a set of clubs, later on when you develop your swing, them may be off.
