Why do you want to make a custom one? Is it for the custom aspect, just to do it, or do you not want to blow the cash on buying another intake, or any other reason?

The issue that I would see with it, though, is that an intake should be tuned in diameter and length for the engine. Simply bending some tubing and slapping it in your engine bay may not produce any extra power and, theoretically at least, could reduce your power. Or at least that's what I know to be true, correct me if I'm wrong....
