To answer some of your questions:

When you lower your car, it changes the suspension geometry, resulting in negative camber (top of tire leans in). This will result in horrible tire wear if it is bad. Take the car after it is lowered to an alignment shop, and have them tell you how close they can get your camber to stock specs. If they can't get it close enough, you will need a camber kit which allows further adjustment.

As for the coilover sleeves, they are basically just like having height adjustable springs, and you still need a set of struts to go with them. They *usually* offer a fairly harsh ride. I'd stay away from this option if possible and go either for true coilovers (spring and strut are one assembly) or just go with springs and struts.
