Alarm System?

When I initially purchased my Honda I was told it had an alarm system. But no matter how many times I tapped it or tried to open it, the alarm would never sound. I then called Honda and they told me that I did and it would sound if a window was broken or something damaging like that. I was wondering if there were any suggestions on an upgrade or anything of that sort.
