2 years? if that were common the plasma tv industry would've been over before it began. I believe 60,000hours of life is the stated expected life, which is about the same for LCD I think.

52" CRT? are you confusing projection tv's with regular tube tv's (crt's)? projection tv's do not have a 180 degree viewing angle.

yeah, some don't come with a base which is one reason I bought the hitachi, it came with a base that swivels, and is controlled with the remote.
