You're assuming they didnt have more pressing packages and assuming you know how to better run a shipping depot. Both assumptions are probably wrong.

For future reference, refer to the estimated delivery date. Then check it out if they dont delivery it on that day. You wouldn't believe the headaches people to call to ask about shipping info on ups.com means.

You can feel sorry for me all you want. Its my business to know the ins and outs of UPS. I'm in the shipping business.

Btw did your package not show up in the time they estimated it?

Side note - why i chose to respond the way I did was because in this area I have alot more knowledge then you and the reasons for your 'ups suck' argument are flat our wrong. Yet you feel the need to share with everyone with how UPS sucks, which indeed is not true. Largest shipping company in North America... must be the worst shipper. I undertand your thought process goes like this 'I could probably think of a better way to do this, so it must suck the way it it' yet you often over look the fact you dont have a clue what the big picture looks like.

I bow to you, oh guru of shipping wisdom.

Seriously...this is a small town. Around 20K people if you include the students. Roughly 10K permanent residents and virtually no major industry. I can scarcely think of a situation where you couldn't make every delivery in this town in one day with one truck. And if you think this is an isolated incident, you're dead wrong. I've dealt with UPS dozens and dozens of times in the past 10 years or so and only about half of those experiences are what I would call good. Most of the time I get banged up boxes, boxes with footprints (the most common) and on more than one occassion they've actually told me they stopped by my house at a time that I was home to know they didn't. I've never had any issue with USPS or FedEx (well...ok...once with FedEx) Being the biggest of anything doesn't mean a damn thing. The U.S. government is the biggest government on the planet, though certainly not the best. N'Sync was once the biggest musical group in the world and boy did they suck. So you like UPS? Whoopty shit. I don't.

Also...you said you're in the shipping business. How could you possibly be in the shipping business and use UPS? That would be like someone who works at American Airlines booking all customer flights through Delta. It doesn't make any sense unless you're in a business that requires you to ship a lot though it's not in the shipping business per say.

Not to argue facts on this one, but isn't China the largest government on the planet?

We ship with UPS because they are the best people to do business with. Yes Fedex and USPS are relatively good but nothing compares to UPS. No one enjoys dealing with the post office and fedex can be scetchy, not offering tracking on some of their gruond shippments.

Well per capita yeah, China is larger. I'm talking about scope. China doesn't have near the number of useless departments we have. Maybe because they're a bunch of filthy communists. Haha. Just kidding. Or am I?

Maybe your experience is corporate account vs. residential account. Having talked to so many people who've been screwed by UPS, I find it hard to believe that my experience is unique. I have no doubt that any company would value corporate acounts more than a person to person basis. After all, a single person can only give you so much business while a corporation can give you a shitload. It's true...the USPS can be sketchy...but I'm on a first name basis with my mailman back home so he always does right by me. The problem with UPS and FedEx is that 9 times out of 10 you'll get a different person picking up or delivering your stuff, eliminating any chance to get to know them. This generally leads to a common distrust. Maybe it's different in a corporate setting...I don't know. The company I work for uses Roadway and I can tell you that they are the shittiest of the shitty. They once dropped a forklift on a package, re-wrapped it, and delivered it to us anyway. Compared to that kind of service, UPS looks like number 1.

Haha that made me laugh (top part).

You're probably right coporate accounts do get special treatment, and I do see the same driver every day. Actually normally drivers have areas they services and are normally pretty consistant. I also have a rep out East who I contact on their 800 number. Same girl every time and she knows my business, so it makes me biased.

I've seen some pretty crazy stuff happened with packages with alot of different companies. For the most part brown runs like a machine, pack in, pack out with no problems. I can tell you that I even call my UPS corp rep when I ship personal packages because she gets stuff fixed for me. So for me, the track record UPS has with me personally and the company I would rate them number 1 as well.
