If you installed (i.e. you yourself, not done automatically by spyware without your approval) it you should be able to remove it as listed above, through the Control Panel--->Add/Remove Programs. If it's not there just run something like Adaware to make sure it's not spyware bullshit. You should also be able to simply right click on the toolbar and it should give you a list of options as far as what to show. My toolbar has nothing besides the shortcut to Norton...I like my IE shit cleaned up.
