See I understand what your saying GT..and I truely respect your decision/opinion. I just find it funny that someone makes a comment about religion here and there..and people jump down his throat without providing a reasonable explination to why they don't believe or why they are doing that. Well...while I'll agree that sometimes the religious stuff does get a bit out of hand, look at the claims being made. Believing and having faith is one thing, but to tell others you have proof of something (no, I'm not refering to this thread in particular) that cannot be proven is not just a fallacy, it's a flat out lie. It's like telling your kids they're special. Sure, YOU might think they're special, but chances are I hate them and so do a good number of other people. It's all subjectable to opinion. I do, however, think that the discussions of a controversial nature (religion, politics, eating babies, etc.) have in fact gotten more civil on the board than they previously were. I remember when it used to go something like "*opinion stated here*" and the response would be "no, you're a fucking idiot if you think that" and that swung both ways between people who were on both sides of the issue at hand. I don't think I've ever said "stupid christians" before (perhaps in a joking manner, maybe) but I hear what you're saying. The only religion I officially deem stupid would be mormons. I mean...the majority of their religion is based on a hoax (Kinderhook plates) perpetrated by a known con man (Joseph Smith). But I digress. All told, I think you've got a point but I also think we're getting better at it.
