pdiggitydogg I have been very close to buying an Ipod and have held, listen and walked around with one; run with one no. Bike with one, yes a friend lent his 20GB to me for a ride when I was thinking of buying one.

Last I checked a small hard drive that can run none stop for 8-12 hours on a small battery was rather new technology.

I think it was about 4 years back now, maybe 5 years when a friend of mine bought an MD player with the 74min disks. I remember him always searching for the 'other disk' that has his music on it and I dont recall him ever getting great battery life.

The MD player might be smaller and lighter but on a single disk it doesn't hold half the information. Ipod is the best MP3 Player on the market. As for other files that can be stored on a MD player or its successes in Japan that is rather unimportant in our talks over the best mp3, as even you yourself stated it doesn't compete with MP3 players. So what gives? You really are as dumb as I thought, sadly in all of your 'japan uses MD players' knowledge you still fall short of being a worldly american. Just face facts.

In the North American market place, when looking for an MP3 player your best option is the Ipod.

You own a mini disk player, good for you. Sony has plans of its own to launch an MP3 player similar to the Ipod and when that happens you will see MD fall to the way side of shelves all across america and canada.

I realize Sony isn't the only person making MD in the world, however they are the people that push it the most here in North America.

So dude, stfu and sit down. Your arguments hold no ground and I wasn't debating the MP3 format as being old or not I was refering to the media in which it was held on. Portable hard drive that in short order will well exceed anyones pratical use for MP3 storage, or 1GB disks that fit into a product Sony will drop once their MP3 player hits the market.

Now the final thing I will say on this is if you are so worried about sound quality dont download music of the internet. The minute you rip music and bring it down to less then CD quality sound you aren't getting the same deal so whatever you buy it will be less quality, MD or not.

As for my admitting i'm wrong, I don't have an issue with that. As for if I was wrong if Ipod is a better MP3 player then anything currently on the market. If you think I'm wrong, go do your research and see what 300 million people across north america have to say. They speak with their $$ and have been buying up Ipods like crazy and thats not because MD has 1GB disks or is smaller and lighter. Its because Ipod is the best product out there. Full stop end of story.
