Bleh. I don't see how I "got schooled" at anything. You wouldn't send mailers out and setup seminars and pursue clients like I would, and I wouldn't sell something like you do. You sell a product, I sell a service. It is easier to market a product because it is easy to point out to the consumer why your product is better. I do NOT sell bonds or anything of that sort. I get clients, partner them to an advisor, and he/she determines their specific needs; then they go to a portfolio manager. I have been very successful in my methods of attracting clients, and will continue to do what has provided for me in the past (see thread about how I'm paying for my apt). Another thing is that I do NOT have "a lot" of money at my disposal. It is a local office, with local revenue, and a marketing budget of a small local branch of a large multi-national corporation. I'll let ya'll know when I get my first $5000 bonus check.
