...well, it is possible to adjust the internal wastegate also without utilizing a boost control device. there is a control arm that opens the wastegate that can be turned clockwise or counter clockwise. the problem is, you'll never know how much psi you'll end up until you look at the gauge. any wastegate, internal or external can be controlled be a boost control device ie. EVC or MBC. Quote:
if what youre asking is, can u add an external wastegate to a turbo set that uses an internal wastegate already, this is my answer: u can add an external wastegate to a turbo set that is accompanied by an internal wastegate. it will need some modifications tho. it will NOT be worth it to convert....IMO. what's going to happen is that, the internal wastegate will have to be DIABLED to properly control the boost setting.
