o.k. sadly the spark plugs are fine (gap, build-up or the lack thereof, etc...) so now I am at an impass. I had a friend tell me to check the feul filter and then maybe the feul pump. About how much would these run me? Could either of these be causing my problem?

Thanks again for all the advice. Oh, and I noticed a strange clicking sound coming from the engine bay. It sounds like a really thin fan hitting something. No, it's not the fan
