my uncle took me in his older Porsche not sure what year but a 911 turbo and did donuts. This was when I was 7 i think and man its a memory that sticks with me, that thing was mad fast. he lives in michigan and owns three different porsches and races all of em at a track, i havent gotten to see him race em but apparently he's good at it, the car he took me is currently on a trailer waiting for a new tranny...memories memories

This one's a tie...both cars were owned by my friend Dick (an older guy who's semi retired but has a wicked car collection).
One was an early '80s Lambo...I don't even remember what model. I just remember the quad carbed 2.5L V8. You couldn't bark the tires on the thing if you tried but he took me out onto the highway and started winding it out. I've never heard an engine sound that good at 9000+ rpm or handle that well. Taking damn near 90 degree turns at 50+mph and actually feeling safe was insane. He traded that car for the next car, a TT Calloway Vette. The same car he had was featured in I believe Motor Trend (I mean it was HIS car in the mag...he got like 5 copies of the magazine from the guy who traded it to him) doing over 200mph. We took it out in front of his car storage building (the guy wasn't poor...let's just say that) and he got out and told me to drive. He said "take it up to 3 grand and drop the clutch". I did and spun all the way through first, second and most of third before it finally hooked. Almost gave me a heart attack. Good times...good times.

They're in print... The Mugen headquarters is 10 minutes away from my Uncle's house (Saitama) and Honda's very own Motegi circuit is 2 hours away. |
