I remember a long time ago after I got my MSD stuff in I went to the parts store for some wires and had to end up ordering some because I had a Mallory distributor at the time. The guy behind the counter had this run of the mill 5.0 ('87-'93 body style) and when I ordered a pair of 8mm wires he kinda chuckles and says "yeah...I've got 9mm wires on MY car". Like somehow his extra mm in plug wire width was gonna be the difference in a race. There's no way you can compare swapping plug wires to intakes and exhaust work. One doesn't do anything...the others do.
