trying to remember if my last set had 2 or 3 wires...I want to say Ground the Black for sure. then you could find the wires going to the light switch and tap that for them toe come on w/ the lights or find a wiring diagram and tap into a wire off the cluster that activates the cluster lights...
Hope this might help a little..

**Other,that I could think of, would be for a dimmer I would think if it had a 3rd wire which would be run to dimmer control **
