umm, at the moment I'm a little confused betwenne Civic generations..
Go in the trunk, and looks to see if you have any screw attached to the grill. If so, then unscrew and remove the grill. If not, they should simply come off by pulling on them. In an hour I'll be going outside.. So I'll check out my dad's car and let you know.
