![]() Does a guy who loves his Civic and works on cars all day want for Christmas? I'm thinkin tools but I don't know the first thing about tools. This guy installs stereos and remote starts and stuff for his work, what kinda tools would this guy love to have? I know he already has a lot of stuff but not EVERYTHING. Any ideas? What are the best brands too besides Snap On? Craftsman?

every guy loves tools...but it can get redundant
Better snoop around the garage and see whats there before you go out and buy something that can get expensive Oh, and I only buy craftsman tools, because of the lifetime warranty on the hand tools |

Get him something that will take his time and and make him actually work on his car. Like a lowering kit or something. Something that he can look at and see his accomplishments. And i guess he will be reminded off you every time hit looks at his car. But probably he will remember his accomplishments becasue we are neanderthals like that.

Like P said I love getting tool.s but...it get's old...plus if all that he does is work on cars..sometimes it might be a break to get him something else.. It all depends on what else he wants I know all I want are tools.

I have never gotten him tools before--I think he would love it. I have always gotten him tattoo certificates in the past.
I would get him a lowering kit but he can get all that stuff at cost and I can't, so it would be dumb for me to get it. Any specific tool ideas? |

What about a gift certificate for the tools? That way he can get which ones he needs. Is he interested in other things like video games, movies, cds..........etc? Other things like camping, biking, sports............?

Between Craftsman and Snap-On, snap on all the way, but you will pay MUCH, MUCH more. Mac tools are also very nice and expensive.
A very nice torque wrench and matching 1/2" socket set makes a nice gift.

a 36" breaker bar would be nice...the 1/2" kind
or a manual impact driver (simply fantastic, and under $30) depends on what you wanna spend...whats the price range? |

Is his car already lowered? If not, get him some lowering springs. Almost every civic owner who likes to modify cars will eventually lower his car. Get the year and model. We'll hook you up with a decent brand name. Hondaman-iac can sell you some cheap springs or coilovers. If not, get him a set of dremmel tool. Those are always handy to have.......if not, get him some altezza tails...j/k

Show up naked.
Bring food. ![]() Ok, seriously. Maybe he'd find use in an air compressor? It certainly won't help with installing a stereo, but it can make quicker work of some mechanical jobs. Check out the Craftsman sales at Sears. They often have decent sales on some of their air compressors where they also come with some air tools. Join the Craftsman club for an extra 10% off on a Craftsman weekend. In fact, if you ever want to buy Craftsman tools, join the Craftsman club. I'd recommend Craftsman over Snap-On simply because of cost, and Craftsman tools are good. Not ALL Craftsman tools are lifetime warranty, but most are. I dunno what this guy likes so it's hard to recommend, but I agree with others who have stated perhaps it's a good idea to get him something different, maybe totally off the wall that he wouldn't expect. For those suggestions, I'd have to know him..... b |

Alright i kick ass at this kinda stuff.
first. Are you hot ? send us a picture so we will know if youre hot. In my car system installing experience, id say he wont need many power tools for that. Its more of an artistic kind of 'working on cars' Its not as greasy/ tough as motor swapping (damn i rule) or suspension, etc... Im sure hes got a power drill. Why not buy him: Torque Wrench with 1/2" socket set. Snap on makes me cream my pants Craftsman is good too, but if somehow i manage to find a girl, and she gives me SNAP ON tools, im marrying and/or kidnapping her.
