no ive never done it but my uncle that lives in the south (alabama...which is why it makes sense to us US people) swears it works. Basically it does make sense...its just preventing the lines from expanding, while being far enough apart to still be flexable. I dont think Id ever do it though...

I cant really say a good price for lines...someone else will come along that knows, soon though

Is the shop totally flushing your brake system and then changing to dot4? Are the pads metallic or carbon/kevlar? If both of those are yes, then it sounds like a decent price to me...flushing an entire brake system is a pain in the ass
