Pro: Shifting at redline gets you more power in the next gear because your revs are higher, even if your power is actually decreasing a little from 7000-7400 RPM's (7500-8000 on most of our tachs). This leads to quicker times.

Con: Running you car to redline constantly will oviously decrease your engine life.

This may sound bad, but you should run your car to the fuel cutoff once just to see where it is. Most 5th Gens (don't know about 4th Gen) have a fuel cutoff on the stock tach at ~8000. However, mine is at ~7800. It won't hurt it to do it once or twice, that is what the cutoff is for. Once you find the cutoff, in order to get the quickest times, you should shift just before the fuel cutoff.
